Quercus pubescens

An uncommonly planted Southern European deciduous oak, with the foliage emerging a downy grey-green, variably deeply dissected into narrow lobes, though highly variable throughout its range and even locally. As the leaves mature through the summer the pubescence is maintained on the underside only. Easy and hardy in the UK, it is also very drought tolerant and an excellent choice for a Climate Change future. Makes a small to medium sized tree here.
