Quercus pyrenaica NJM 12.001

A collection from Far Western Portugal of this European endemic, representing an outyling population. Particularly well lobed deciduous foliage, with 4 to 7 on each side of the fairly large leaves, which emerge covered in a whitish wool in spring, turning glossy on top eventually. A good strong, hardy, drought tolerant oak, reaching 25m or so in the UK.
