Quercus ‘Zehra’ (350cm)

A particularly rare evergreen hybrid of the Mexican Q. rysophylla and, probably, Q. falcata from the USA. The foliage is thick textured like Q. rysophylla, but often with three prominent lobes, reminiscent of Q. falcata. When older leaves fall they are rich red. A strong growing tree of at least medium size, so expect perhaps 20m at maturity considering the parents, though it is still so rare and relatively new that only an educated guess is possible. Fully hardy and known to have endured -29c in the Czech Republic. Definitely heat and probably drought tolerant.
