Rhododendron bhutanense ex Arunachal Pradesh

A compact high altitude rarity, 60cm to 3m tall in the wild, but expect 1.5m after many years here. Known only from Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh this shows good trusses of medium to pale-pink flowers opening from deep pink buds in spring. The foliage is covered underneath with a close brown to orange-brown indumentum. Sun or semi-shade and acid soil.
