Rhododendron Subsect. Grandia AP 41

Originally from far Western Arunachal Pradesh, NE India at c3100m asl, this is possibly one of various large leaved species or from a natural hybrid swarm. It was originally introduced by both Keith Rushforth and Alan Clarke and the identity is still not clear. A magnificent large leaved species, deserving of a prime position in a semi-shaded woodland garden etc.
