Related to R. phaeochrysum, this makes a large shrub or small tree given enough time. Foliage is slim, dark-green, with a pale-brown felt beneath and the flowers are white to flushed pink, bell-like, with or without a crimson blotch and spotting, and come in trusses of up to 15 in April-May. An excellent foliage plant for semi-shade and acid soil. Hardy. These are derived from an Alan Clarke collection from high altitude SW China.
