Sanguisorba officinalis from Oregon
A form of this very widespread species from SW Oregon, USA, where it inhabits boggy conditions in an otherwise summer-dry climate. Rounded dark-red thimble-like flower heads in June followed by seed heads in black-red, extending the season of interest into autumn. Sun or part shade. Not too dry a position in any ordinary soil. Height 1.3m.
