Schizophragma fauriei

From the mountains of Taiwan, this is one of the most spectacular hardy deciduous climbers. Self-clinging to about 12m if you let it, though as tall as you want in reality, the ovate leaves to 10cm long are topped by big, broad, flattened creamy-white lace-cap heads of small fertile flowers with fluffy exserted stamen, surrounded by long-stalked 5cm bracts in July/Aug.
