Seseli libanotis

The Moon carrot is a rare UK native, found only on dry chalky sites in the Chilterns and the South Downs, though its true wild range reaches as far as Siberia. The leaves and roots are edible and several studies suggest the species contains anti-microbial and antioxidant chemicals. A biennial umbellifer for well drained soil, with handsomely dissected foliage and branched stems holding white umbels in summer, to approx 60cm. This will self sow if happy. For a sunny well drained position.
