Solanum linearifolium

The 'Mountain Kangaroo Apple' from SE Australia, where it apparently inhabits shady woodlands. An evergreen shrub with very narrow foliage, bearing flat, round, deep-purple flowers for a very long period from May onwards. These are complimented by golden-orange egg-shaped fruits, once eaten by Aborigines. Usually best in a sheltered site in the UK, outside the milder areas, though I have grown and selected this for hardiness here in cold rural Gloucestershire for the last 20 years, so these should be hardier than others offered. For sun or shade. 2m tall. Highly prunable.

Pot size: 2L
