Named by Dirk Benoit of Pavia Nurseries in Belgium around 2000, this was selected for its particularly elegant narrow foliage and consistently good autumn colour. One of the most handsome of the Asian 'whitebeams' due to its elegantly held narrow foliage with bright white undersides, it bears a mass of white flower in late spring, followed by drooping clusters of dark red fruit in autumn. The leaves turn to brilliant shades of orange and red in autumn. A graceful small tree, forming a rounded crown with slightly pendulous outer branches, usually to about 10m tall.
