Sorbus harrowiana ex NW Burma 1

Most distinct amongst the rowans, this Chinese/Burmese species, closely related to S. insignis, has comparatively huge foliage composed of great fat, thick textured, glossy, dark green leaflets with pale glaucous undersides which emerge in spring with a red tint. Large flat heads of white flowers are followed by small usually creamy-white fruits. Makes a large shrub or small tree eventually. Quite striking and rarely encountered!
