Sorbus harrowiana ex NW Burma 1

Most distinct amongst the rowans, this Chinese/Burmese species, closely related to S. insignis, has leaves like no other. Comparatively huge foliage composed of exceptionally broad, thick textured, glossy, dark green leaflets with pale glaucous undersides which emerge in spring with a red tint. Large flat heads of white flowers in spring are followed by small usually creamy-white fruits. Makes a large shrub or small tree eventually. Quite striking and rarely encountered!
