Sorbus matsumurana Clone 2

A great rarity in cultivation, this shrubby species from the mountains of Japan is conspicuous in habitat in autumn due to its glowing autumn colour. Here it makes a slow growing dense shrub that may eventually reach 3m, with distinctive deep red buds covered in a glaucous bloom. The blue-green pinnate leaves turn yellow, orange or rich-red in autumn and fruit are bright orange-red.
