Sorbus megalocarpa var. cuneata

An unusual species from China with conspicuous rounded heads of creamy-white flowers opening uniquely before the leaves in spring. New leaves emerge red in spring and often assume similar colouring in autumn. This variety is easier in sites prone to late frost and has never suffered from such here in at least 20 years. A small tree eventually, for ordinary soil.
