Previously named Sorbus paniculata here. From Nagaland, NE India; the first introduction to Western cultivation of this large leaved whitebeam, as far as is known. This forms a small tree with white flowers in spring, followed by brown fruits. The foliage is white hairy above, with solid white undersides. Hardiness untested as yet, but possibly not for the coldest areas. This collection was from a tree which has unusual, distinctly red-tinted new growth.
