Styrax japonicus ‘Sohuksan’ (syn. ‘Emerald Pagoda’)

Originally found on Sohuksan Island, South Korea, this form of the species has substantially bigger flowers and leaves than the typical Japanese form and is more tree like, to perhaps 7m. The foliage is also thicker textured, darker glossier green and more ovate in form, with the flowers reaching up to 3cm across and lightly sweetly scented. A superlative cultivar, for lime free soil.
