Styrax japonicus ‘Wespelaar’

From the Belgian arboretum of the same name, this form has broad foliage in 'Fargesii' fashion, emerging green and turning brownish-purple through the season. Very fragrant pink-flushed white flowers have dark stalks and appear en-masse in June. A striking new form, the original specimen garnering much attention. A small deciduous tree for lime free soil, best out of the hottest, driest sites.
