Styrax sp. NJM 11.085

From 1600m in Central Guizhou Province, SW China, where it grew with various Rhododendron species, Hydrangea longipes, Holboellia, Quercus aliena and other nice things. It is almost impossible to key-out Styrax species from China with any accuracy so this remains an unidentidied species, though the masses of relatively large and fragrant white flowers in June make a species name almost superfluous. A small tree for lime free soil.
