A Tilia discovered and collected quite some time ago in China, this great rarity has survived in only one or two places in the UK, until now. Desired by tree buffs who've seen it, this is an elegant thing closely related to T. oliveri but with minor botanical differences, bearing heart shaped foliage, pale-grey under and well toothed, on a crown of sweeping, semi-weeping branches. Clusters of fragrant white flowers in summer. Fully hardy and easy, like most Tilia. A small to medium size tree.
