Trochodendron aralioides Taiwanese form

This form is faster growing than the norm, making a large shrub or small tree with a distinctive and attractive layered growth habit. Dark evergreen leaves handsomely held on spreading branches, with fascinating green flowers in erect racemes in May. Very handsome, hardy and easy and suited to acid or alkaline soils, though not good on thin chalk. Sun or semi-shade. A very distinct evergreen, loved by those who know it.
