Veronicastrum virginicum ‘Cupid’

Strong vertical stems to about 1m, flushed with a red tint as they expand, topped by a stockier version of the usual vertical flower spike, subtended at their bases with a ruff of diagonally held shorter spikes. These are a rich violet from red-tinted buds in late summer. Hardy and easy in sun or part shade. Any reasonable soil.
