Wachendorfia thyrsiflora ‘Pan’s Persistent’

A hardier form of the species, tested here and in N. Britain and named here 2021. Fat spikes of warm-yellow flowers from orangey buds in summer on tall stems to 180cm over a clump of attractive, highly pleated leaves. Vivid dayglow orange roots! This South African requires sun, not too dry, but is hardier than you think; I have had plants survive outside in pots at -10c!
