Holding the Award of Garden Merit from the RHS, this has the darkest flowers of any single-flowered form of W. floribunda. Long tapering racemes of sweetly scented mauvish-purple flowers are produced at a young age in spring. Foliage emerges with a bronzy tint and turns to a reliable yellow in autumn. Best in a sunny position in well drained soil, and trained to form a strong framework of flowering spurs.
