With possibly the strongest scent of any wisteria this mauvish-purple flowered cultivar holds an Award of Garden Merit from the RHS. Classic 'bunch of grapes' like racemes are densely set on the flowering spurs in spring before the foliage, which then emerges bronze before turning green. A second, lighter flush of flowers is produced with the foliage in July/August. Best in a sunny position in well drained soil, and trained to form a strong framework of flowering spurs.
