A virtually unheard of hybrid between A. canariensis and A. unedo, found occasionally wild on Tenerife, where A. unedo is an introduced weed. Visually it is closer to A. unedo, but it has unusual and distinctive longer, slim foliage, pale pink tinged flowers in springand large, bright scarlet, deliciously sweet fruit. The bark is rough and deep red-brown. Probably rather hardy.
