Betula utilis ‘Nepalese Orange’

Collected originally in Central Nepal by Roy Lancaster etc., this unusual form of the variable Himalayan birch possesses outstanding coppery-orange bark, overlain with paler patches and prominent horizontal lenticel banding, equal, in its own way, to any form of B. albosinensis. A hardy, medium sized tree for most soils, most spectacular when planted as a tight, or loose, group.
