Calamagrostis ‘Kyrgyz Giant’

This very bold grass was found high in the Tien Shan mountains of Kyrgyzstan. It forms big clumps, with inflorescences to approx. 2.5m high and inhabits gravelly valley bottoms where it endures long dry summers. Deciduous and extremely hardy (it gets to -50c in habitat!). This is best in very well drained soil.
