Castanea henryi CMBS 0755.04

Different from other plants in cultivation of this rarely grown species of chestnut; in this form the new growth is flushed with red, making for an attractive small tree with long drawn out foliage, less deeply veined than some other well known species. Whilst hardy, late unripened growth can be nipped back a little by winter cold, but regrows strongly and the tree remains handsome. Potentially excellent red autumn colour.
