Hedychium spicatum var. acuminatum

A very rare form of this hardy species, apparently introduced by Dr Wallich from Nepal in 1819. Similar to the species but more vigorous, bulking up well. Stems to about 1m or more, topped by diffuse inflorescences, the fragrant airy flowers creamy-white, orange and yellow. One of the hardiest, for a sheltered rich position in the garden.
