Magnolia figo ‘Stellar Ruby’

A richly coloured form of this most deliciously fragrant of evergreen Chinese shrubs; only one of the small, purple washed flowers is needed to stop you in your tracks. Makes a bushy evergreen shrub which is actually easily grown outside in milder areas and with hotter summers this actually becomes hardier, with better ripening, rendering it hardy throughout much of the UK if sited sensibly. Also a classic conservatory plant, filling your room with the most incredibly delicious scent. A Pat McCracken cross between M. figo var. skinneriana and M. figo var. crassipes.
