Mahonia x lindsayae ‘Cantab’

An exceptional hybrid with superb parentage: M. japonica gives the hardiness and intense fragrance while the rare M. siamensis (duclouxiana) offers huge drooping foliage with widely spaced leaflets. Autumn/winter flowering with racemes of individually comparatively huge, soft-yellow, exceptionally sweetly and powerfully scented flowers. Makes a wide medium sized shrub to about 2m tall. New growth is maroon tinted. Rarely available for no good reason, like so many excellent plants. Worth growing for the foliage alone.

Pot size: 2L
