Phyllostachys aureosulcata ‘Spectabilis’
Ignore the scare stories and misinformation and purchase here with confidence. A colourful and very hardy bamboo with a mass of strongly upright, golden-yellow culms with an alternating green groove (sulcus), and occasionally with a zigzag base. Culms temporarily blush red on the sunny side, and the foliage is rich green. Potentially running, so use a rhizome barrier if desired, which is very simple and straightforward to install at just 50cm depth. and COMPLETELY stops the spread, NO MATTER WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE HEARD ELSEWHERE. Height 5 to 6m tall at maturity. Best in sun.
