Stewartia pseudocamellia

A small to medium sized hardy Japanese tree for a semi-shaded spot in good lime-free soil. Highly attractive flaking bark with stems splendidly mottled, even on relatively young specimens, a succession of yellow centred white flowers in July and August, and lovely red and yellow autumn colour make this one of the best all-round trees for a lime-free soil. Excellent in open woodland conditions.
