Lapageria rosea
Chilean Bellflower. The national flower of Chile needs no introduction as is highly desired by all (probably) that see it. Best in a cool but protected spot, and open, fertile, lime-free soil, this beautiful plant will adorn itself with exquisite, large, rose-crimson, pink or white fleshy, bell-shaped flowers over a long period in summer/autumn. Evergreen foliage on stems to 4m high.
