Cornus kousa ‘Cappuccino’

This form was selected for the deep red tints in the young foliage during summer, which contrast handsomely with the flowers. Spectacularly beautiful in flower, with white bracted flowers covering the branches in June, even on young plants. The edible fruit are an added attraction in late summer, looking almost like globular strawberries. Autumn colour starts with a hint of red, building to rich bronze and crimson and lasts for up to a month. This variety will make a very hardy large shrub or very small tree eventually, for most soils apart from shallow chalk.
