Extremely rare in cultivation, this is doing well in a couple of Cornish gardens, despite the Beast from the East, and could be hardier than we even hope for as the species occurs up to 3100m alt. in SE Guangxi, China. An exceptional evergreen foliage plant with relatively large drawn out, glossy, lanceolate foliage up to 18.5cm long. Lightly scented cream flowers in clusters of up to 15 in June/July.
