The Chestnut Oak from eastern North America makes a good looking specimen over here with handsome foliage bearing a resemblance to Q. canariensis, but is barely known and rarely encountered. A medium to large hardy tree up to 20m here, with an open, spreading crown and fulsome shallowly and regularly toothed foliage, turning rich yellow in autumn.
