Quercus sartorii

Only introduced to the UK from Mexico in the mid 1990's, this is a semi-evergreen ornamental species of fairly vigorous growth. Glossy green lanceolate leaves up to 25cm long are lined either side with bristle tipped teeth and emerge covered in red hair. Proving hardy so far.
